With ServiceTitan, Summit Roofing’s First-Visit Close Rate is 20%. Here’s How

Before ServiceTitan, Summit Roofing and Restoration’s sales team always needed a second appointment.

After each visit, sales manager Dee Trigg's team would head back to the office, manually build a hand-written proposal — good, better, best — and then schedule a return trip to present the numbers. Days passed between the appointment and the estimate.

That was a problem, because in that window, the competition kept knocking.

“A lot of companies want to be third in the door — the last guy in,” Trigg said, arriving after others have made their pitch, betting the homeowner is ready to decide.

"Once you leave and you (take days to) give an estimate, you're nothing but a number.”

As a result, Summit’s first-visit close rate was likely non-existent — not that they could even calculate it in the first place with their previous CRMsoftware.

But now, all of the above has radically changed with ServiceTitan. Here’s why.

10 to 15 Minutes

When a Summit roofing consultant arrives at a homeowner's house today, the measurement data is already waiting in ServiceTitan — roof dimensions pulled automatically, a good, better, best estimate pre-filled and ready to present, with financing options built in.

What once took days now takes 10 to 15 minutes.

"My sales team's favorite feature is definitely being able to provide that estimate right there on the spot," Trigg said. "Not having to make multiple appointments."

When a rep can answer every question without calling the office, it changes how the homeowner sees them.

"It doesn't look like my guys have to go back and talk to a manager," Trigg said. "It looks like I have a rep there that knows what he's doing, can provide the proper estimates, and doesn't have to go look for answers before giving an answer."

The results have followed. Since going live with ServiceTitan in July 2025, Summit has grown from $18 million to $28 million in revenue.

The difference, Trigg said, is speed — and not just to the lead.

"Not only do we have the speed to lead, we have the speed to close. We're outrunning our competition to be able to close the jobs."

Last in the Door

The results aren't lost on Summit founder Douglas Greenhaw.

"After ServiceTitan, our first-visit close (rate) is around 20%," he said. "Which in roofing is unheard of."

The overall business results back it up, too. With ServiceTitan, Summit now operates at a 48% profit margin.

Some roofing companies make a strategy of being last in the door. ServiceTitan has flipped that dynamic for Summit.

“With us presenting right then and there, (customers have) actually canceled the other (roofers),” Trigg said. “Before, we'd have to go back to the office, build the estimates, and then deliver…

“(Now, we aren’t) letting the other guy in the door.”
