Why ServiceTitan's Roofing Automation Roadmap Is Changing

A roofing sales rep used to wait on someone in the office to order an EagleView measurement report. This summer, ServiceTitan erased that wait with automation, along with two other manual steps for Roofing and Exteriors accounts:

  • Building the same task checklist by hand for certain job types

  • Moving a project card only after someone noticed a crew had been assigned

These latest features translate into maximum efficiency, higher close rates, and increased revenue for your business.

Project creation shows the upgraded features clearly. ServiceTitan already created projects automatically for jobs sold in the field, but a sale closed in the office required someone to set the project up by hand. The same automation now covers office-sold estimates too, so a rehash program or a standard workflow gets project set-up without a second person picking up the thread.

Jamie Pillitteri, Director of Product Management for Exteriors at ServiceTitan, described what comes after these upgrades as a change in scale rather than a fourth or fifth automation.

"This won't scale linearly. I won't be up here next quarter telling you the next three automations that are live. I will actually be up here telling you about a slew of capabilities, and action types and trigger types that have been brought into the automation system that you will then have control over setting up on your own account."

The near-term focus for the next Roofing and Exteriors expansion sits in production: creating jobs and purchase orders automatically based on what sold, then routing people to review exceptions instead of clicking through steps with an obvious answer already attached. A similar expansion is planned on the insurance side of the workflow.

For Roofing and Exteriors accounts already running the first three automations, this shift starts within the next two quarters.

Webinar host Vishal Laddha, who leads ServiceTitan’s Roofing and Exteriors strategy, opened it by acknowledging the timing: roofing and exteriors teams are in the middle of busy season, scrambling to get every job in and chasing leads as they come. An automation platform built around removing clicks instead of adding features carries a different kind of value during this stretch of the year, since it hands time back to teams without asking anyone to learn a new screen.
