Josh Moree’s background in banking taught him the importance of software, how it could drive efficiencies and improve performance.

So when he became Director of Operations at Richard’s Home Services in Bradenton, Fla., in 2022, he immediately recognized how the business was not taking full advantage of ServiceTitan, the cloud-based software for the trades.

That began an earnest effort to improve operations by understanding and maximizing what ServiceTitan offered.

The effort included attention on Richard’s TitanScore, a dynamic performance metric that appears as a rocket-ship icon on the ServiceTitan dashboard. It tracks how well a home-service company utilizes ServiceTitan’s features and best practices, with points awarded for completing setup and active usage checkpoints.

Four years later, Richard’s is the winner of ServiceTitan’s Titan Advisor Excellence Award for 2026, which recognizes the business with the highest TitanScore increase from a starting score of more than 100.

“ServiceTitan is built to help businesses perform better,” Moree said. “Sure, you can probably use 20% or 30% of the tools and you can use it effectively and run your business that way. But are you getting the most out of it? No.

“And I guarantee you're not maximizing your revenue. You're not maximizing your employees' efficiencies, your technician's efficiencies. You're losing on things like that. That's where you make your gains against your competitors. That's where you can seize opportunities.”

When Moree was hired, he promised that within six months he would know ServiceTitan better than anyone.

He started with the company’s TitanScore in the 60 or 70 range, doing between $4-$4.5 million in business. Now with the entire business more focused on ServiceTitan and its best practices, the TitanScore reached 300 (Moree called that “rarified air”) with revenue approaching $10 million.

“If you focus on your TitanScore,” he said “and you focus on the metrics or whatever you're trying to improve, and get your score up in those areas, you will see improved efficiencies and you will see improved revenues and sales.

“I 100% believe that.”

He called ServiceTitan the most important tool that technicians and team members can use.

“I get they need their wrenches and their drills and everything like that, but ServiceTitan is a very, very sophisticated tool that can help immensely,” he said.

The end result of paying attention to the TitanScore: greater efficiency gained through greater knowledge based on data provided by ServiceTitan.

“It shows you the inner workings of your company,” he said. “It exposes areas of weakness. It gives you areas of opportunity. It's a great tool to self-diagnose your business and see how you're doing things.”

Specific benefits include better utilization of team members, which makes their time more efficient because virtual agents on ServiceTitan take care of routine needs. That allows team members to focus on service. Follow-ups on estimates and service, personal service calls, follow-ups on phone calls, etc., all fill a need for customers who still want human interaction.

Moree said he checks the TitanScore on a daily basis. When it topped 300, he let the team and owner know. The TitanScore now is in the 290s.

“I think the reasons the team would want to strive for the higher TitanScore are growth and revenue,” Moree said. “I mean, that's typically what most business owners want. You want to see better margins. Even if you're not trying to grow, you want to do more for less. That's what everybody's always trying to do.

“The TitanScore gives you that ability.”
