It’s another great step in celebrating the trades — a national championship to find out who is the best HVAC technician in the United States.

The ServiceTitan HVAC National Championship, part of the Elite Trades Championship Series, will be held in November 2022, challenging the best HVAC technicians in the industry to compete against each other, and themselves — with more than $100,000 in prize money on the line.

The competition joins the five-year-old IDEAL Electrician’s National Championship and the U.S. Auto Tech National Championship, introduced in 2021. Those two series chose champions in December in Nashville, with ServiceTitan, the No. 1 cloud-based, all-in-one software solution for the trades, as a sponsor.

“We are beyond thrilled to be part of this incredible week of the trades,” ServiceTitan Industry Advisor Vanessa Gonzales said in Nashville. “We'll be taking it to the next level starting in 2022 with the ServiceTitan HVAC National Championship.”

“Technicians are the unsung heroes that work tirelessly to keep our heaters working in the dead of winter, and our air conditioners running during a scorching summer heatwave,” said Tom Howard, Vice President of Customer Success at ServiceTitan. “For far too long the trades industry has not been given the spotlight it deserves and I’m incredibly proud that ServiceTitan is a part of this effort to showcase the skills and experience of some of the most talented technicians in the industry.”

The first ServiceTitan HVAC National Championship is now underway, with the first step being a 5-minute qualifying quiz

The finalists — 15 professionals and 15 apprentices — will travel in November to Tampa, Fla., to compete for more than $100,000 in prizes, with the finals televised by Fox Sports.

More than 40,000 electricians took part in qualifying for the Nashville event, which included more than 100 competitors and paid the winning professional $60,000 in prize money.

"Tradespeople are the country's backbone, and the pandemic reminded us that we can't take our essential skilled trade workers for granted," said Doug Sanford, Senior Vice President of IDEAL Industries, Inc. "We're thrilled to partner with ServiceTitan to expand on the success of the series to include an all-new program focused on the HVAC technicians."

The qualifying round features a multiple-choice test, with questions provided by North American Technician Excellence (NATE). Those who pass will advance to a practical skill set round, which will run from Aug. 1-Sept. 25. The top 15 apprentices and the top 15 professionals will be invited to compete live in the semi-finals at the Tampa Convention Center.

All qualifying round winners who advance to the semi-finals will receive a custom VIP prize package from ServiceTitan HVAC National Championship sponsors and an all-expenses-paid trip to Tampa, Florida, to compete in the 2022 program.

ServiceTitan is proud to partner with IDEAL Industries, Inc., on the Elite Trades Championship Series. Other sponsors supporting the ServiceTitan National HVAC Championship include 7-Eleven, Duluth Trading and Little Giant Ladder Systems. While registration is required, there is no fee to participate.
