Frequently Asked Questions
What is the BBPOS card reader?
BBPOS is the only Bluetooth EMV Credit Card reader that works with ServiceTitan Payments. It enables you to easily and securely accept Credit Cards in the field via EMV, swipe, and NFC contactless, including Apple and Google Pay, to complete payment transactions.
What is a digital wallet?
A digital wallet is commonly referred to as types of digital credit card payment methods such as Apple Pay or Google Pay where customers can utilize their phones to complete credit card transactions. NFC (Near Field Communication) is the underlying technology which enables this to happen, and also powers newer credit cards to complete transactions just by holding their card a few centimeters in front of the BBPOS reader.
What is an EMV transaction?
EMV stands for Europay, MasterCard® and Visa®, the three card network companies that originally developed this new standard of card security. Transactions are processed through a chip embedded in credit and debit cards. Instead of being swiped, the card is inserted into a credit card reader. Any cards containing a chip, including American Express or pre-paid cards, can be processed with the BBPOS.
What are the associated fees? Is this a “Card Present Transaction”?
All EMV, NFC, and Digital Wallet transactions are “Card Present” transactions, resulting in the lowest tier of merchant fees and saving you money!
